World Champion gains edge with Deer Velvet supplement

New Zealand’s Mountain Red® Deer Velvet product has received the endorsement of six-time Karate World Champion, Ruan Retief of South Africa.

Ruan Retief was introduced to Mountain Red® Deer Velvet as part of his training regimen, and quickly started to see positive improvements. “In the highly competitive world of sport, athletes need all the help they can get and throughout my years as multiple-time World Champion I have tried many techniques, natural supplements and systems to enhance my performance to compete on the world stage” comments Retief. “It was in this process that I was introduced to Mountain Red® Deer Velvet and I can honestly say that was the day that my search for truly effective performance enhancers stopped. Mountain Red® Deer Velvet gave me an extra edge that took me from competing successfully in my home country of South Africa to conquering competition world-wide”.

Retief was so impressed with his increased performance, with his bench press ability increasing from 80kg to 120kg, and his leg strength, critical in Karate, doubling to nearly 200kg, something that has also benefited Retief’s new sport of competitive mountain-biking, that he wants to share the news with others.

“I can truly recommend Mountain Red® Deer Velvet to any athlete who takes both their performance and their health seriously. I have gained immense benefits from Mountain Red® Deer Velvet and encourage others to try it for themselves; I believe you will be amazed at the results”.

“Deer Velvet has a long history of use in the Orient, and this traditional use is supported by a growing body of scientific evidence showing that velvet, when taken as a supplement, improves athletic performance, stamina and recovery from injury” says Mountain Red®’s CEO Karen Morley. “We wanted to go the extra mile with Mountain Red®, guaranteeing our product from start to finish. The company controls the quality of the raw material which is sustainably sourced, and is extracted and manufactured using the highest standards. Quality is critical when world class athletes are using our product, as their professional career could be shattered if it was anything less than perfect.

Koreans turn Deer Velvet into tonic

An new style energy drink utilising New Zealand Deer Velvet has been launched in Korea. This is a healthier alternative to the traditionally high caffeine content of this style of drink.

Here is an extract from the report in New Zealand's Southland Times (taken from http://www.stuff.co.nz/4554692a6440.html )

"...a new deer velvet tonic, manufactured in Korea from New Zealand-farmed deer, is providing a new kind of buzz.
Deer Industry New Zealand Velvet Services Marketing manager Rhys Griffiths said the tonic was targeted at school-age kids and career-oriented people on the go.
``They can get their daily dose of vitamins in a way that's appealing. Its a bit like V or Red Bull, but its much healthier and with no added sugar or caffeine,'' Mr Griffiths told delegates at the Deer Industry New
Zealand conference in Invercargill last week.
The tonic, which contains 3.75g of deer velvet per 80ml, also includes apple juice and vitamins.
Each energy drink retails at about $NZ6 a sachet."

This is an excellent example of innovation occurring with natural supplements. Korea is an ideal place for a deer velvet drink to have a chance of success, as they are traditionally big uses of if as a natural supplement. Korea already takes the vast majority of New Zealand's annual deer velvet harvest. There is still much educating required in other countries, particularly western ones, on the natural properties of deer velvet.

In the UK where Chinese herbalists are prevented from offering products of animal origin, (due to laws governing them, the deer velvet is still allowed to be imported into the country), deer velvet capsules are the main option available to people.

Components of Deer Velvet Aid Joint Mobility

Some of the components found in Deer Velvet are beneficial for your joint mobility.

Collagen is an important protein component of bones, and the tendons, ligaments and cartilage that join them.

Glycosaminoglycans are also now viewed as important in joint mobility.

One of these, Glucosamine, is used by the body to help maintain joint structure, including cartilage, tendons and ligaments, and in the fluids that help lubricate your joints. Another one, Chrondroitin, has been found to be quite a potent anti-inflammatory, and so helps when your joints are suffering from inflammation.

These are all naturally occurring components in the growing antlers of deer, and are maintained after harvesting in goodDeer Velvet supplements.

Is Deer Velvet an aphrodisiac?

It seems that the blogosphere is fill of reports that deer velvet is a natural aphrodisiac. Unfortunately there is no evidence to support this. In fact some more credible reports state that it is not.

What is more likely to be the case, and where some claims of improved sexual function originate from, is deer velvets ability to help with overall health of a person. In its traditional use in chinese medicine, it was used as an aid in the following areas:
Body strengthening, Blood cell production, Immune system support, and Cardiovascular health and function.

By being able to help a person in these areas, and improve their overall health, it would then follow that their sexual function would also improve. But this does not make deer velvet into an aphrodisiac as such.

New Zealand Deer Velvet Behind World Win

New Zealand Deer Velvet Behind World Win

While the rest of New Zealand slept, one lone Kiwi tri-athlete managed to score a world victory in Hawaii earlier this month, with little fanfare at home and a similarly low-key return to New Zealand late last week, but a firm conviction that New Zealand Deer Velvet had helped him prepare for the event.

Jonny Collett, 23, from Blenheim took the gold medal in the Aquathlon World Championships on 4 October – featuring a 2.5 km run, followed by a 750m swim and a final 2.5km - then placed a close fifth in the age-group World Triathlon Championship for 20-24 year olds just five days later. In that race he swam 1500m, cycled for 40km and ran for 10km run on a blisteringly hot Hawaiian day, before collapsing at the finish in 1hr 59 minutes and 33 seconds, just four minutes behind the winner Diogo Martins of Brazil.

He says taking the podium to receive his World Championship medal was a humbling experience, and he was a “bit of a stunned mullet” but receiving the haka from his team-mates with the New Zealand flag draped over his shoulders was something he will “never, ever forget”.

The build up training in Christchurch where he is now based was gruelling, reaching 30 hours a week at the peak. Jonny swears by the New Zealand deer velvet capsules he had been taking that, he says, helped maintain his immune system during that time and meant he had no time off for sickness during the period. “It’s something everyone should take, like a multi-vitamin,” he says. “I took the capsules and combined them with a well-planned nutrition plan to help me go the extra mile.”

Jonny won’t be able to rest now, he has a summer of hard training ahead of him before going off to Melbourne next year to help other athletes compete in the Commonwealth Games, then later will go on to the US to compete on the professional circuit.
